Artist Bio

In September 2015, Antonio Guerra launched his first album of original compositions, "Movimentos," at the "Oi Futuro" Theater in Ipanema (Rio de Janeiro). Featuring special guests such as Mart'nália, Ricardo Silveira, Kiko Horta, Eduardo Neves, and the Swedish string quartet Wirën Kvartten, this work was selected for the MIMO INSTRUMENTAL Award and was part of the festival's program in the 2015 edition in Rio de Janeiro, the Savassi Festival in Belo Horizonte, and other cities.

In 2016, he presented his show at the Brazilian Embassy in London, at Sesc Quitandinha in Petrópolis, and at the BNDES Cultural Space in 2017, which resulted in his latest album, Antonio Guerra Sexteto AO VIVO, released in 2020.

In 2018, he released the CD Coração Brasileiro with trumpeter Silvério Pontes. The album features works by Pixinguinha, Radamés, Guinga, and Chico Buarque, as well as compositions by Antonio and Silvério themselves. The CD recording included special appearances by Guinga, Yamandu Costa, Guto Wirtti, and Bernardo Aguiar, and since then, the duo has performed in various venues in Rio de Janeiro, especially the Sala Cecília Meireles and the Blue Note-RJ.

Also in 2018, Antonio performed two concerts in New Delhi, one of them at the Indian International Center, as a solo piano artist. In 2019, Coração Brasileiro embarked on a tour with shows in Japan, Italy, and Portugal. That same year, Antonio was invited by the Brazilian Embassy in Rome and performed his repertoire with clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi, in addition to a show at Alexanderplatz with the Italian Trio Nosso Brasil.

In 2022, Antonio released *Rabo de Arraia*, the first album by his group, the Antonio Guerra Trio, a trio formed with drummer Cassius Theperson and bassist Guto Wirtt. It presents a Brazil, a land of multiple roots, expressed in tradition, in the diversity of popular rhythms, and, innovatively, with references to jazz, soul, classical music, and even Eastern music.

In 2023, Antonio went to London and performed a show at the World Heart Beat theatre.

At the end of that same year, Antonio participated in the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, BA Jazz 23, with his trio.

In addition to his own work, Antonio has performed alongside Elza Soares, Martinho da Vila, Martnália, Rubel, among others, as a pianist, accordionist, and arranger.
